So, to delay my unavoidable participation in the initial “Flex/AIR/Flash” waterfall effect, I’ve waited till now to post anything about the massive new beta releases that have been available since last evening. Flex Builder 3: LOVE the new CSS design view. LOVE IT! I’m sure there are plenty more features of direct interest as well,

Just had a chance to test the Flash Media Encoder and was pretty impressed. We’ve been using Flash Media Server for our VOD materials but have gone to QuickTime for live events. The main problem with FMS with a live stream is that it will only broadcast using the Spark codec and not VP6. FME

I’ve taken some time today to experiment with Twitter using the ActionScript 3.0 API that is available. It’s a very simple class library and, as such, pretty easy to build a widget around. One thing that has bothered me a bit is the seemingly lengthy amount of time the services take to update the API

Since reading this announcement on the Google Gears API Blog last evening, I’ve been wondering to myself (from time-to-time) how this would/could/will apply to the Apollo runtime. I’ve always had problems with this configuration and dealing will Dell over service issues the past few years has been nothing other than pointless as their service is non-existent… The main problem is that the connection (while

I’ve been aware of scalenine for some time now but haven’t had the chance to really look into the resources provided there until recently. I’m absolutely thrilled to be able to download these themes, pull them apart, and learn from example how to go about authoring a total customization of the Flex interface elements. Customization

At times I get the feeling that life would be simpler if I were to just totally remove all references of myself from the internet. This is, of course, pointless… once you have as much material out there as I do over the number of years I’ve been active within these “tubes”, it’s really impossible

Flash CS3 has some long-awaited improvements in the integrated ActionScript editor. These are things that really used to drive me nuts and it’s great to see that Adobe has sought to make their tool nicer for developers to use. With increased pressure from external editors like SE|PY and FlashDevelop, I had hoped for more- but
