Before leaving my software engineer position at the University of Denver earlier this year, I was approached by a previous publisher of mine to see whether I’d have any interest in organizing and contributing to an upcoming book on JavaScript. This would be part of a new series of “workshop” titles that focus on particular languages or technologies and would provide all the information needed to become proficient in each subject.
I wasn’t planning to write any new books this year – but the idea was that there would be multiple authors working on different chapters… so it wouldn’t be a very large amount of work. I agreed to the work and after planning out the chapter structures, outlines, and topics to cover with my co-authors and editors… it all eventually came together.
This week marks the official release of The JavaScript Workshop: A New, Interactive Approach to Learning JavaScript from Packt Publishing. Congratulations to my co-authors and the entire team for this massive book release!
