Flash Professional and AIR 14: Creative Cloud Updates

I’ll be speaking on these topics for the Hawaii Flash User Group on July 9th at 4:00pm Mountain Time. In this session, we will explore what is new in the 2014 release of Flash Professional CC through a number of demonstrations which target Flash Player, AIR, HTML5 Canvas, WebGL, and more. We’ll have a look at the rebuilt Motion Editor, variable width strokes and profiles, advances in SVG and Sprite Sheet output, and more. We will also have a look at what’s new with the Flash Player and AIR runtimes as Adobe continues enhancing them with new and expanded features.

Flash Player 14 and the AIR 14 Runtime and SDK

The Flash Player 14 and the AIR 14 Runtime and SDK have bveen released by Adobe and should be making their way across various devices and distribution platforms. New features include: Anisotropic Filtering – enhances the image quality of textures on surfaces that are at oblique viewing angles. New Stage3D “Standard” Profile (with AGAL v2!) – Multiple render target, Floating point texture, et cetera… Intel x86 Android Support for AIR – only captive runtime packaging is allowed for x86 architecture. AIR Gamepad Functionality – enables the app developers to provide a second screen on Android mobile devices. Improved Packaging Engine

Flash Platform Rundown – Week of December 1st, 2013

The big news this week is an update to Flash Professional CC and a couple neat extensions which go along with it!
