I was interviewed for the Runtime Expectations internet radio show while at 360|Flex in Denver. It was great chatting with Adrian and we touched upon many subjects over the course of the interview. Some of the topics discussed during the interview include: music composition, book and tutorial authoring, the AEL and ACP programs with Adobe, mobile development, teaching technical subjects, and the sad state of tech journalism.

The Flex Show

An interview I did with The Flex Show, back in December 2010, is now available!

On the show, we talk about the use of Flex in higher education – specifically focused on projects I’ve been involved in at the University of Denver. We also go over the Adobe Education Leader program and chat about the wider Flex-in-education community. There is even some talk on mobile application development, the implications of tablet computing in education, and even some AIR for TV!

The Flex Show

Last evening, I was interviewed by Jeffry Houser and John Wilker of The Flex Show with a focus on Flex Development in Higher Education. We chatted about a general overview of Flex and education, some Flex projects I’m involved with at the University of Denver, a bit about the Adobe Education Leader program, and emerging areas like tablet computing and AIR on TV. At the closing of the interview I was able to plug a bunch of projects from this year including 6Threads and Emergent Collective One, and also talk up my upcoming book!

Join Joseph Labrecque from the University of Denver as he demonstrates the various features of Adobe AIR 2 and AIR for Android and how they can be used in a university setting. Learn how the university is leveraging AIR to expand and supplement a host of university projects and applications. Labrecque will preview new AIR projects he is working on and share his experiences with the AIR for Android prerelease for building mobile applications on campus.

I’ve gotten into the habit of recording all of my presentations if they are not being otherwise recorded or broadcast. This not only helps me to review my delivery and make adjustments in future sessions, but also allows other people with similar interests to benefit after the fact.

Joseph will demonstrate how the University of Denver is leveraging the Flash Platform across the campus community to allow collaboration between students, faculty, and staff in a number of our web applications. Connectivity to Facebook and Twitter services will be covered as well as specialized collaborative services in University applications like CourseMedia™ and the tracking of targeted activity through Google Analytics APIs.
