Some notes around the final release.
We will be looking for press around this release – please get in touch if you’d like to do a story about the project or any of the contributors!
So… what now? Here’s a checklist, but I am hoping to have everything done by the last week of July:
Retrieve all submissions for the project.Retrieve artwork pieces for the cover art.Still need some image, text, and URL assets from submitters for the booklet.Layout and author CD booklet with submitter data.Arrange tracks, make sure they all flow well and levels are okay between tracks.Test draft production on multiple systems and audio units.Produce Red Book audio disc and create BIN/CUE for full download.Rip final CD into individual hi-res MP3 files with full ID3 data and package.Finalize all artwork and booklet design.Create final website download gateway.

This page will contain all updated information regarding the unnamed Community Compilation CD Project that is currently in the works.
Ideally, I’d like to have representatives from a variety of communities: Flash, Flex, ColdFusion, PHP, HTML, Linux, Silverlight, Photoshop, Java, whatever… Please keep the momentum going!
I’ve also noticed that all contributors have been men thus far. Ladies- let’s hear from you as well! Spread the word.
Those of you involved in managing the community- this will be a really cool project but I need your support!!!

FAQ:
- Q: Can I submit more than 1 track?
A: Yes, you can… but please let me know which is your preferred track in case there is not enough room for both. I imagine there may be room for more than 1 submission… I don’t want to discourage it – we’ll see! - Q: Are you making any money off of this?
A: Absolutely not. A “gift” to the community from it’s own members. - Q: If I submit my work, can I include a link where people can purchase my albums or get more information?
A: Absolutely! - Q: I’ve uploaded a track but now it’s GONE!!! Did you get it okay?
A: Upon receiving your email, I pull down your files from FTP and reply to thank you and let you know that I have done so. If you do not receive a reply from me within 24 hours, something is wrong- better email me again or ping me on Twitter. - Q: Does the track need to have anything to do with tech (thematic, content, lyrics, et cetera)?
A: No! Of course not! It can if you like- but none submitted so far have such properties. - Q: Is country music okay to submit?
A: Submissions thus far have been very electronic in nature, but any genre or style of music is acceptable! When I arrange the tracks, I’ll do it in such a way that everything will (hopefully!) flow really well… regardless of such things.
