Adobe MAX 2016 in San Diego

Another Adobe MAX will soon be upon us and I am thrilled with what is coming up in the next few days! I’m writing this account of major event activities the day before my departure so everything is pretty well set in stone at this point. Also – Happy Hallowe’en ;) Having MAX in a city other than Los Angeles is very welcome. I’ve never visited San Diego before but am very much looking forward to spending a few days in what I’ve heard is a lovely city. Adobe Animate CC: Introduction to Animation and Interactivity Completely sold out for

Making the Case for Flash as a Creative Platform: Part II

This is the second part of a two-part series regarding correspondence with Adobe around Flash Professional over the past few years. I encourage you to read the first part as well. The following comes about based upon some emails previous to the “Create Now 2014 World Tour” Adobe launched that year, which I did participate in as a speaker. I discovered that despite the enhancements Flash Professional received, there was zero acknowledgement from Adobe during the tour. The following correspondence demonstrates just how difficult communication around Flash Professional was during this time. I have many other examples, but this one does well to

Making the Case for Flash as a Creative Platform: Part I

Over the past few years, I’ve argued – passionately discussed – with Adobe as to why they should be paying much more attention to Flash Professional (soon to be Animate CC) as a creative tool.  I spoke with many people about the value of Flash Professional and the wider Flash Platform… across many segments of the company… and after a number of face to face, telephone, and email conversations; I prepared and sent out this letter to a few of the people who I thought might be able to make a difference. Now that Adobe has come out in full support of Flash

More on Adobe Mobile Apps

There has been a significant rush of positive news around Adobe mobile apps and Android recently. So much news that I have decided to just lump it all into this one post. Android Mobile Apps I’ve been highly, highly critical of Adobe over the past few years when it comes to their mobile strategy and choice of supported platform [singular]. Many of the reasons as outlined here, are historical. Many others – perhaps more – just simply make sense when looking at the current mobile landscape and the growing Creative Cloud adoption rates. Well Adobe has been working on Android

Publish Flash content on multiple platforms

Flash Professional CC lets you create animations for virtually any use case, device, browser, or platform. Natively author and publish your content to various formats using the tools and interface you already know. I have recorded – and Adobe has published – a set of video tutorials to spread awareness of Flash Professional CC as a platform agnostic creative animation and asset generation tool. Not only is this messaging important for creatives looking for a solid solution for targeting HTML5 Canvas, WebGL, and an array of custom platforms like Away3D and GAF… but is also beneficial to getting people to

Photoshop Express for Android and the CreativeSDK!

I am thrilled to see mention that Adobe continues to integrate their CreativeSDK into updated and all-new Android mobile applications. After the release of Lightroom Mobile a few weeks back, I get the following notice regarding even more work on bringing CreativeSDK powered apps to Android: I’m sure @JosephLabrecque will be happy to know I spent most of my day installing #Android updates and reviewing soon-to-be-release apps. — Adam Lehman (@adrocknaphobia) February 6, 2015 On this Friday the 13th, Adobe has released an update to Photoshop Express which includes tight integration with Creative Cloud and the CreativeSDK to completely re-shape the application
