While I am locked away in a dark room talking to myself for days on end, Adobe has announced the 2014 Release of Adobe Creative Cloud!
So what are some highlights?
- 14 new versions of the CC desktop apps… even Flash Professional!
- Creative Cloud connected mobile apps and hardware.
- Major performance boosts in apps like Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Muse. BTW: Muse is now a completely-rewritten, 64-bit screamer.
- A new WebGL publish option in Flash Professional! (alongside HTML5 Canvas publish from 2013) — Publish Flash content for iOS8 :p
- Workflow inefficiencies: Want to export a Sprite Sheet from Flash Professional and import it automatically as a symbol in Edge Animate? You can do that.
- Video in Edge Animate? Yes!
- New Blur galleries in Photoshop.
- Brand new timeline-integrated Motion Editor in Flash Professional? YES!!!
- Variable Width Strokes in Flash Professional? Awesome.
- Killer new splash screens. (yes, this counts)
- Enhancements to Live View in Dreamweaver.
- Bunches of cool stuff between After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Audition.
- SVG export from Flash Professional.
- A bunch of other stuff you can read about at Adobe.com!
Create Now 2014 World Tour
Corresponding with this milestone is a new world tour hitting a ton of cities. I’ll be presenting at the Denver event alongside Paul Trani – so if you are in the area July 10th… be sure and register!
What’s the performance like comparing publishing the “same” FLA:
SWF
HTML5 Canvas
WEBGL
??
It depends on the system and browser. You don’t publish the same FLA but can use the same assets and timeline animations across 3 different FLAs.
